147 Rapper und Rapperinnen im Alter zwischen 15 und 44 Jahren in acht Sprachen ihren gemeinsamen Song für die Region!

Die Uraufführung des Monster-Tracks «1 City 1 Song.» wird während 80 Minuten die Reithalle zum Beben bringen. Gemischt wurde der Song von Fred Herrmann (Bligg) und gemastert von Dan Suter (Kool Savas, Xavier Naidoo). Somit konnten zwei absolute Vollprofis der Szene gewonnen werden.

Für einen gelungenen Auftakt sorgen aber zunächst die Pioniere der Szene Luana, Skelt!, Kalmoo, Shape, Poet, MC Rony, Red G, Tarek und Black Tiger mit einigen ihrer bekanntesten Songs von damals. «1 City 1 Song» wird Basler Musikgeschichte schreiben und auf eindrückliche Art und Weise das Potential der hiesigen HipHop-Szene aufzeigen!

1 City 1 Song ist ein Lied von 147 Rapperinnen und Rappern zwischen 15 und 44 Jahren, 32 Beats, 11 Produzenten und 7 DJs. Die Premiere fand am 31. August 2013 am Jugendkulturfestival Basel statt. Gesungen wird auf AlbanischBaseldeutschDeutschEnglischFranzösischItalienischPortugiesischSpanischSwahili und Türkisch. Am 5. September 2013 landete das gleichnamige Download-Album auf Platz 1 der iTunes HipHop-Charts, und am 15. September 2013 stieg es in die Schweizer Hitparade ein.[1] Mit seinen 83 Minuten Länge ist es als „längster Rap-Song der Welt“ im Guinness-Buch der Rekorde verzeichnet.[2] Unterstützt wurde 1 City 1 Song vom RFV Basel.

Ein 83-Minuten-Monument für den Basler Rap

Dieses Wochenende erblickt ein Monster von einem Raptrack das Licht der Welt: Auf «1 City 1 Song» vereinigt Black Tiger über 140 Rapper aus der Region Basel. Am Freitag feiert das Werk mit einem Weltrekord auf DRS 3 Premiere, am Samstag gibts das Werk live in der Kaserne zu hören und als Gratis-Download. Der Bericht eines Beteiligten.

Black Tiger hat ein Monster erschaffen! Einen 83 Minuten langen Rapsong mit über 140 Rapperinnen und Rappern aus der Region und Beats von 11 Produzenten (Liste am Ende dieses Artikels). Auch wenn sich der Basler Rappionier eigentlich lieber nicht in den Vordergrund drängen will, schliesslich hatte er viele Helfer zur Seite, so ist es doch er, der dieses Wahnsinnsprojekt angerissen und durchgezogen hat. Es kann nur Black Tiger sein!

80 Minuten, 147 Rapper, 1 City, 1 Song

Am Samstag feiert der 80-minütige Monster-Track Premiere: 147 Basler Rapper haben daran mitgewirkt.

Nein, als sein Lebenswerk soll man das Mega-Projekt «1 City 1 Song» nicht ­bezeichnen, wenn es nach Black Tiger geht: «Bloss nicht», betont das Basler Rap-Urgestein sogar: «Es haben Hunderte von Leuten mitgewirkt – und jeder einzelne hat dazu beigetragen, dass dieses einmalige Ereignis Realität wird.»

Doch ganz besonders, so viel darf man getrost bemerken, ist es das Verdienst des ersten Basler Dialektrappers, dass «1 City 1 Song» tatsächlich zustande gekommen ist. Denn er, der in der Szene immer schon als «Integrator», als Bindeglied zersplitterter oder verfeindeter Fraktionen galt, hat dem Projekt fast zwei Jahre seines Lebens gewidmet.
